Hard Drive Health Check

Partition Information & Hard Drive Errors

It's a good idea to periodically check the health of a hard drive to make sure that there are no errors which can prevent it from running normally. Doing this is extremely easy on both Windows and Mac.

Windows - Disk Management

1. Search "Partition" and click on Create and format hard disk partitions
   
   
   
   
2. A list of all connected hard drives will appear
   
   
   
   
3. Right click on your Primary Drive (the one that connects to Monument) and select Properties
   
   
   
   
4. Click on Tools > Check
   
   
   
   
5. Click on Scan Drive to see if there are any hard drive errors
   
   

Mac - Disk Management

1. Search "Disk Utility" in Finder
   
   
   
   
2. From the drop-down menu, select Show All Devices to show all connected hard drives
   
   
   
   
3. Select your Primary Drive (the one that connects to Monument) and click on First Aid
   
   
   
   
4. Click Run
   
   
   
   
5. Click Continue to see if there are any hard drive errors
